These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SELO mobile application and related services (the "Service"), operated by Ibrahim Al Houti, an individual sole proprietor based in Kuwait, doing business as SELO Technology ("we", "our", or "us").
By installing or using SELO, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use SELO. By using the Service, you confirm that you are 16 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction.
2. Account
You may use SELO without an account (data stays local on your device). If you create an account:
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- You may delete your account at any time from Profile › Account › Delete account. After a 30-day grace period, your data is permanently removed.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or engage in fraud.
3. Subscription, billing, and refunds
3.1 SELO Premium
SELO offers an optional paid subscription ("SELO Premium") that unlocks AI training plans, AI transformation reports, AI scan extraction, and unlimited cloud sync history.
Subscription tiers (USD):
- Monthly — $9.99 / month, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers
- Yearly — $99.99 / year (~17% savings vs. monthly)
Prices in other regions are auto-localized by Apple based on the App Store storefront tier closest to the USD price.
3.2 Billing
- Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID via the App Store.
- Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase or, for the monthly plan, on the first day after the 7-day free trial ends.
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- You can manage and cancel your subscription anytime in Settings › [Your Apple ID] › Subscriptions on your iPhone.
3.3 Free trial
- The 7-day free trial is available to new SELO Premium subscribers on the monthly plan only.
- If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged the monthly subscription fee.
- One free trial per Apple ID.
3.4 Refunds
All refund requests are handled by Apple per the App Store Refund Policy. We do not process refunds directly. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund.
3.5 Price changes
We may change subscription prices. We will notify you at least 30 days before a price change takes effect. If you do not accept the new price, you can cancel before the change takes effect.
4. License
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use SELO on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms.
You may not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Resell, sublicense, or transfer access to the App
- Use the App to develop a competing product
- Use the App in a way that violates any law or third-party right
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, or security controls
- Use the App for any purpose other than personal fitness tracking
5. Health disclaimer
SELO is a fitness-tracking and informational tool. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for professional medical care.
- AI-generated training plans and transformation reports are based on user-provided data and general fitness principles. They are not personalized medical recommendations.
- Consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new exercise program, especially if you have pre-existing conditions, injuries, or are pregnant.
- DEXA, InBody, and other body-composition data extracted by SELO's AI vision feature should be verified against the original scan report. AI extraction may contain errors.
- Calorie and macro targets are estimates. Individual nutritional needs vary.
You are solely responsible for consulting healthcare professionals and assessing your own ability to follow plans generated by SELO. We disclaim all liability for injuries, health outcomes, or damages arising from use of the Service.
6. AI features and limitations
- AI training plans, reports, and scan extractions are generated by Anthropic's Claude API on our behalf.
- Outputs are probabilistic and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.
- We do not guarantee specific results from following any AI-generated plan.
- We may rate-limit, modify, or discontinue AI features at any time. Premium subscriptions continue at the published price; affected features will be communicated.
7. User content
When you log meals, workouts, scans, photos, or notes:
- You retain ownership of your content.
- You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content for the sole purpose of providing the Service.
- You confirm you have the right to upload any content (e.g. progress photos showing only yourself; scan reports you legitimately obtained).
- You are responsible for keeping a backup of important content. While we maintain backups, we do not guarantee against data loss.
8. Coach mode (read-only sharing)
If you use SELO's coach-mode share-link feature to share an AI report:
- The recipient sees only the specific report you shared, not your account.
- Share links expire after 30 days by default.
- You can revoke a share link at any time from Profile › Coach shares.
- You are responsible for who you share the link with.
9. Apple-required terms (App Store)
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its contents.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing claims by you or third parties relating to the App.
- In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, we (not Apple) are responsible for the investigation, defense, and settlement of that claim.
- Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and has the right to enforce them against you.
10. Intellectual property
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service (excluding your content) are and will remain our exclusive property. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
The SELO name, logo, brand colors, typography, and all related marks are our trademarks. You may not use them without our prior written permission.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- AI outputs will be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your situation
- Any defects will be corrected
- Data will not be lost
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 50.
This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of (a) your violation of these Terms, (b) your use of the Service, or (c) your violation of any third-party right.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms or non-payment.
Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Service ends immediately
- We may delete your account and data after the 30-day grace period
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination (Sections 5, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15) survive
You may stop using the Service at any time. Cancel your subscription via your Apple ID Subscriptions and delete your account from Profile › Account.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kuwait, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
For disputes: 1. Informal resolution first — contact us at legal@selotechnology.com. Most disputes can be resolved this way. 2. Mandatory mediation — if informal resolution fails, the parties agree to attempt mediation in Kuwait City before initiating arbitration or court proceedings. 3. Forum — any unresolved disputes will be brought in the courts of Kuwait, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts (in which case those rights are preserved).
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do:
- We update the "Last updated" date at the top
- For material changes, we notify you via the App or by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect
- Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance
